I have spent 30 years in a body that I'm completely irresponsible with... I live the all too common story of do too much, sleep too little, and live on processed food and caffeine. I spend a lot of time complaining and no time making changes...it's time to turn the crazy train around and start taking care of my only body! This is my story as I am supported by Port Moody's Innovative Fitness and Impulse Sport Therapeutics to quit the excuses and get this body under control.

Dreaming of the stairmaster
Last night I had a dream that Kris from Innovative took me to a big field for our workout and in the middle was a stairmaster. He set me up and then did some running around the track himself, checking on me as he passed each time. We ended up having a huge fight because every time his back was turned, I turned the speed WAY up (pretty much the opposite of real life...can't say I've never sneakily turned the speed down on equipment when a trainers back is turned ha) and he wanted it to stay slow. I ended up running out and tripping him when he ran by I was so mad...hmmmmmm.

Hey Leah - I came home after tonight's "torture session" at Moveo, and finally checked out your blog properly. So awesome - I'm going to send the link out to the participants at my Sun Run clinic in my weekly email on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to an article about that study I was telling you about today, about visualizing eating something (chocolate brownie?????): http://news.sciencemag.org/sciencenow/2010/12/to-eat-less-imagine-eating-more.html
There's a suggestion that it's useful to deal with sudden cravings - I've been testing it, and it seems to help.
Cheers,
Kathy
Thanks Kathy!! I am excited to check out the article - I'll let you know what I think! Hope you're feeling good post-torture! ha
