Yesterday Innovative officially got me out on my second bikeride (perhaps we should review that my first ride was a few laps of the alley and an attempt to teach me how to turn a corner and not land on my head).
Candice the super cute IF receptionist brought her kick butt mountain bike in for me and trainer Hoffy (aka Alex, The Hoffster, Hoff) took me out to explore the trails of Port Moody. It was certainly an adventure, but after I sorted out how to get on the bike without falling on my face, I picked it up pretty quickly. I also have to say that project tuff-muff has been extremely successful since my VJ survived the ride and has recovered quickly.
Things I almost hit during my 2nd ride ever....
1. the ground...repeatedly
2. bear poop (aka a big pile of fresh cherry-pit-filled bear scat)
3. a three-legged dog
4. a construction worker (who looked pretty upset about it)
5. the biggest slug ever (I have to note that someone else did hit it...I saw it sliced in half on our way home)
6. a baby (who's mother just laughed and remained in my path as I yelled "ahhh new biker! oh geez! new biker! blahhhhh!)...at this point Hoff was killing himself laughing...what's with everyone thinking me almost riding over a baby is funny? Maybe the 3-legged dog, but a baby would be bad news I think.
